Making hard-boiled eggs in an air fryer couldn’t be easier! There’s no water to boil, no under- or overcooked eggs, and it’s totally hands-off. Your eggs turn out perfect and easy to peel every time! Delicious on their own or in deviled eggs, on salads, in recipes, or for meal prep.
Why These Eggs Are So Good
- Hard-boiled eggs cooked in the air fryer are so easy! No water needed, so there’s no keeping an eye on the stove. Just set the timer and pop into cold water when done.
- “Boiling” your eggs in the air fryer ensures they turn out perfect every time. No under- or overcooked yolks! Plus, they’re easy to peel!
- Air fryer hard-boiled eggs are perfect on their own with a little salt and pepper, but also great for meal prep, salads, deviled eggs, or any recipe that requires hard-boiled eggs.
Chef’s Tips
- For soft boiled, cook your eggs for 9 minutes. For medium, cook 11 minutes.
- Your air fryer may need different times due to different makes and models! It’s not a bad idea to test a sample egg at a lower amount of time to ensure you get the perfect yolk.

Air Fryer Hard Boiled Eggs
Equipment
- air fryer
- Tongs
- Large bowl filled with cold water and ice
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat air fryer to 300° Fahrenheit.
- Once air fryer comes to temperature, place raw eggs in air fryer basket. Place basket in air fryer and set cook time based on desired doneness: 9 minutes for soft-boiled eggs, 11 minutes for medium-boiled eggs, or 13 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
- Once cook time is up, immediately (and carefully) remove eggs from air fryer and transfer them directly to ice bath. Leave eggs in bath until cool to touch, then peel (see Notes) and eat or refrigerate for later.
- Cook Time: Time may vary based on the make and model of your air fryer. Test one egg prior to cooking whole patch to ensure desired texture of yolk.
- Trick for Peeling: Place egg in a glass that’s roughly half filled with water. Place hand (or a lid or cover of some sort) over top of glass and shake glass violently until egg shell begins to crack. Alternately, roll hard-boil egg back and forth on countertop, pressing down with palm of hand while rolling to apply gentle pressure.

I have an Emril air fryer that is larger than the 3.5 qt used in most recipes. Should I increase the time and or temperature?
You shouldn’t have to adjust the cooking time or temperature for this Air Fryer Boiled Eggs recipe even with a larger air fryer. Just make sure you give it time to completely preheat before you cook the eggs. Let us know how this works out in your air fryer!
So do I double the time for two? Or do the same time for them if I have a fryer basket full?
I wouldn’t suggest a completely full basket, but it would be the same cook time. Hope that helps!
Worked perfectly, thank you!
My air fryer only went down to 300 degrees – this worked perfectly!
Glad you enjoyed them!
