How much juice is in one lime? Well, that depends on whether you have a small, medium, or large lime. Plus top tips on easily juicing limes and what to use leftover lime juice for!

It Depends on the Size of the Lime

Large: 3 tablespoons
Medium: 2- 2 1/2 tablespoons
Small: 1-1/2 tablespoon

What Do I Use To Juice a Lime?

There are quite a few methods and tools to use to juice a lime.

Citrus reamer
A handheld citrus reamer is frequently a wooden or plastic tool with a spiked side and a cylindrical handle (check out the top photo). It’s compact and easy to store, but it also takes a strong arm to twist the reamer into the lime.

Manual citrus juicer
A manual citrus juicer is basically just a bowl with a spiked juicer in the center. It’s pretty basic and easy to use, plus you have the added benefit of the juice dripping right into the bowl for way less mess.

Squeeze juicer
A squeeze juicer, or citrus squeezer, looks like two small cups or bowls that you squeeze together to extract juice (kind of like a big garlic press). They take a bit of elbow juice, but they’re fairly easy to use, and the holes in the juicer help keep the pulp and seeds from getting into your juice.

Electric citrus juicer
An electric citrus juicer is more expensive and a lot less compact, but if you plan on juicing a lot of fruit, it’s the way to go. You typically just hold half of your lime or other citrus fruit on top of the juicer, and it does the rest for you. This is especially great for anyone with limited mobility!

Is Lime Juice Healthy?

In a word, yes! Lime juice is packed with antioxidants, vitamin C, and other nutrients.

The vitamin C in limes and other citrus fruits helps boost immunity, is good for skin, can lower blood pressure, and a variety of other benefits. The juice from one lime is about 11 calories, 3.7 carbs, and provides 22% of your daily requirement of vitamin C.

How To Use It
