Strawberry Maca Smoothie. Have you tried maca, the Peruvian superfood? It's amazing for energy, contains tons of vitamins and minerals, and is even good for libido and fertility!I debated calling this smoothie the “bow-chicka-wow-wow” smoothie, due to maca’s legendary benefits when it comes to libido and general baby-makin’, but couldn’t come up with anything that didn’t sound extremely creepy. So.. I’m leaving it at strawberry goji maca smoothie. Because, after all, that’s what it is, right? But so much more.

Have you tried maca before? Don’t be put off by the fact that it’s somehow a member of the radish family! No, this Peruvian root is an ancient superfood, has been called “Peruvian ginseng”, and is touted for its rich vitamin and mineral content, powerful source of sustained energy, and ahem, sexual benefits in general.

Strawberry Maca Smoothie. Have you tried maca, the Peruvian superfood? It's amazing for energy, contains tons of vitamins and minerals, and is even good for libido and fertility!Since apparently everyone ever has gotten married over the last few months, I think it’s time to introduce to encourage some baby-makin’, am I right? Maca has been known not only to increase libido, but to balance hormones and possibly even increase fertility! Pretty impressive, in my oh-so-humble opinion.

But getting your daily maca can prove challenging if you don’t pop it as a capsule. Its flavor is a bit strong to sprinkle over just anything, like you might do with chia seeds or flaxseed meal. Instead, it’s typically blended into smoothies, and its aromatic flavor hints almost at vanilla, making it a perfect addition. Paired with goji berries which, at the very least, are absolutely loaded with antioxidants, this smoothie will become a total heavyweight in your rotation. I love how the fruity strawberries and tart goji berries blend together with the nutty maca. I prefer the bright flavors in the summer, saving nuttier overall blends for the cooler months. And while I have a ridiculous amount of pumpkin recipes queued up for you guys, it is still four thousand degrees outside, so I must relinquish summer its continued rule.

Strawberry Maca Smoothie. Have you tried maca, the Peruvian superfood? It's amazing for energy, contains tons of vitamins and minerals, and is even good for libido and fertility! This smoothie is perfect in the morning, or as a killer pick-me-up in the afternoon.. especially if you’re planning some good ol’ quality time with your partner. Just saying. It’ll help provide sustained energy, super necessary vitamins and minerals, and maybe just that extra little boost when it comes to lovin’.. and a little bit of baby-makin’.

BTW – Rob stopped in his tracks when he saw the photograph of your ‘bow-chicka-wow-wow’ smoothie! He was like ‘who’s that’. I explained and he commented on the sharpness, light and shadows. Beautiful and delicious work, Cheryl! 😀
