🍓 What Makes This Recipe So Good
- This simple pink drink recipe invokes all the deliciousness of the Starbucks classic using as few as 3 ingredients. It’s a much more wallet-friendly version of the original, and you can still make it in tall, grande, venti, or trenta if you want.
- The OG version of the pink drink combines a base of strawberry, passion fruit, and açai with coconut milk and freeze-dried strawberries. Our recipe differs slightly, replacing the passion fruit and açai with a white cran-strawberry juice that tastes super similar but is generally much easier to find in-store.
- A touch of green coffee bean extract gives this drink a boost of natural caffeine, which is typical of the coffee shop version. If you want a caffeine-free option, though, simply skip the extract!
👩🏼🍳 Chef’s Tips
- Be sure to let the freeze-dried strawberries and cran-strawberry juice mingle for a few minutes. The strawberries will infuse the juice with a boost of strawberry flavor that really has a big impact on the overall pink drink!
- Passion tea and green tea would both be tasty additions to this creamy refresher. You can use freshly brewed tea or bottled cold tea, whichever you prefer. Starbucks also offers a Tazo passion tea concentrate that’s available at most grocery stores, which will give you the most of that citrusy hibiscus flavor.
- A pink drink is best when it’s fresh, but you can combine the juice, green coffee bean extract, and freeze-dried strawberries ahead of time if you like. This is a great option if you prefer your drinks super cold! Then when you’re ready, just divvy it up into serving glasses and top it with cold coconut milk.
- If you like a really sweet pink drink, you can add a little simple syrup, flavored syrup (like Torani syrups), or a liquid sweetener. Just be careful not to overdo it. The ingredients are already on the sweeter side, so it’s easy to push the mixture over the sugary edge.

Starbucks Pink Drink Copycat Recipe
Equipment
- large measuring cup
- Wooden spoon or silicone spatula
- 2 Serving glasses
Ingredients
- 1 cup Ocean Spray white cran-strawberry juice
- ½ teaspoon liquid green coffee bean extract optional
- ⅓ cup freeze-dried strawberries
- ice crushed or cubed
- 1 cup sweetened coconut milk from a carton; original or vanilla flavor
Instructions
- Pour 1 cup Ocean Spray white cran-strawberry juice into large measuring cup. Add ½ teaspoon liquid green coffee bean extract and stir to incorporate.
- Add ⅓ cup freeze-dried strawberries. Stir to incorporate, then set aside 2 to 4 minutes to allow strawberries to infuse.
- Add desired amounts of ice to serving glasses, then pour equal amounts of prepared juice mixture over ice.
- Top each glass with half of 1 cup sweetened coconut milk. Serve, stirring coconut milk into juice before drinking.
- Strawberries: Fresh strawberries will work instead of freeze-dried, but they won’t give the drink as much strawberry flavor. If you want to use fresh strawberries, I recommend muddling them in the bottom of the measuring cup before adding the juice.

I figured the calories at a lot less…am I missing an ingredient? How did you get the 300 plus count?
A lot of that comes from the freeze-dried strawberries (according the program that creates the nutrition info!). I would check the bag you buy to see if the info matches up.

Can I use almond milk instead of coconut milk?
Totally!
Thank you for this recipe it’s delicious. I’ve made it a few different ways and my husband’s favorite is when I blitz the strawberries into a powder and let them sit in the coconut milk in the fridge. That way he can just pour it over his ice, and then add sparkling water because he likes it carbonated. Bonus, the strawberry coconut milk is very yummy on Paleo chocolate cereal.
Could I use canned coconut milk and does it have to be refrigerated?
Of course! No need for refrigeration. 🙂
This is sensational. I can’t wait to try other flavors, but the strawberry is excellent as well. I’ve also made it with leftover coconut cream which truly tasted like a French soda.
Can this be made with other milks, like Flax? I am not a fan of coconut.
Absolutely!
