A Note from Our Nutritionist

Hema

Donuts are a fun treat for a party or special occasion. Our donut recipe uses a gluten-free flour blend, and the donuts are baked in the oven instead of being deep-fried for a lighter, better-for-you version of the classic treat.

Though these are lighter than traditional donuts, these donuts do contain a fair amount of sugar. Something to keep in mind!

Chef’s Tips

  • Have fun with it! This gluten-free dessert recipe is super easy to customize. Turn them into your favorite donut flavor by either coating them in powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or a classic glaze.
  • For a regular baked donut recipe, simply replace the gluten-free all purpose flour with regular all purpose flour. This recipe can be easily tweaked to fit all dietary needs!
  • Jazz these gluten-free donuts up for holidays! For Christmas, dunk them in red and green sprinkles. Or for halloween, cover them in a bright orange glaze with chocolate sprinkles.
  • Make sure your gluten-free all-purpose flour contains xanthan gum. Without it, the donuts won’t hold together. If yours doesn’t already have xanthan gum, you can add ½ teaspoon to the mix.
