Why This Board is So Great

  • Using a simple construction paper template, you’ll create a dramatic half-moon focal point filled with crumbled cheese that looks like you hired a professional party planner. Bascially, you’ll impress everybody!
  • These colors are absolutely stunning together! Deep purples, rich blacks, and creamy whites create a sophisticated color palette that’s way more elegant than your typical orange-and-black Halloween spread.
  • Despite looking incredibly posh, this board comes together in about 30 minutes with ingredients you can find at any good grocery store. Everyone can find something to nibble on, too, from sweet chocolate truffles to savory aged cheddar, tangy dried fruits, and crunchy purple chips – seriously, there are options for every taste preference!

Pro Party Move!

Go full spooky by wearing costumes and serving Halloween extras, such as Hocus Pocus Halloween Popcorn, Paleo Halloween Cookies, and Hocus Pocus Spellbook Brownies.

For the adults, make some tasty Halloween Margaritas โ€œMonsteritasโ€ and why not throw in another charcuterie board, like this Hocus Pocus Charcuterie Board!

What You Need to Know Before You Start

  • Look for interesting blue-veined cheeses and unique cheese curds โ€“ the more varied your textures, the more your moon will look fab!
  • When creating your moon shape, don’t skip the step of using a paper template. Now, hear me out โ€“ trying to create a perfect moon shape without a guide is wayyy harder than it looks, and the template keeps everything neat and contained.
  • Let cheeses come to room temperature before serving, and take berries out of the fridge about 30 minutes early so they’re not ice-cold.
  • When filling out your moon shape, start with the largest crumbles (like cheese curds or blue cheese chunks) as your base, then add smaller crumbled cheese to fill gaps. The varied textures make it look intentionally rustic and beautiful (and on point for the theme!).
