I’m a busy person, so when it comes to organizing for the week, any time I can make meals ahead and freeze them for later is a bonus. And many of you have been asking, “Cheryl, what freezer bins do you use??” I’m super happy to finally share which ones are my faves and why they’re my ride-or-die! (Plus, we share other organizer bins that fit different freezer types and are highly rated.)

Is Freezer Organization Worth Doing?

Honestly, the freezer is one of the most chaotic zones in my kitchen, and I refuse to let it be like this! When everything’s just stacked and shoved in there, I forget what I have, things get buried, and perfectly good meals get lost until they’re freezer-burned beyond saving.

The biggest win is being able to actually find your meal preps. When you freeze soups, sauces, or full dinners flat in bags, they can stand upright in a bin and get labeled (a permanent marker is your best buddy here). Instead of digging through a pile, you can flip through them like files in a folder. Grab what you want and go โ€” no archalgoeist dig required!

Or you can also lump frozen items into categories with proper organization: meats, vegetables, and freezer meals, for example.

It also just makes more sense to keep your prepped meals in their own dedicated section, separate from your frozen vegetables, store-bought items, and random odds and ends. When my freezer has a system, I actually use what’s in it.

My Go-To Freezer Storage Bin

My current fave is the YouCopia FreezeUp Freezer Bin (pictured above). Why? Because it’s a clear, BPA-free bin with 6 adjustable dividers (count them, 6!!) that let you create custom-sized compartments for whatever you’re storing. It has sturdy handles for pull-out access and a lower front wall so you can load and grab things quickly.

For clarification, I have the 15″ bin, but this brand also sells a 12″ design!

A freezer organization bin with labeled frozen meal bags stored upright in a freezer drawer

My Quick Review of the YouCopia Freezer Bin

Honestly, there’s not that much to say โ€” and that’s kind of the point. The YouCopia Freezer Bin just works really well!

I freeze everything flat, then stand the bags upright in the bin. It turns your freezer into a little library, everything spine-out so you can flip through and find exactly what you’re looking for without pulling anything out. The acrylic is genuinely clear, so you can see straight through to whatever’s in the back.

This bin fits really well in our freezer โ€” it would be perfect in a drawer-style freezer, especially. And the thing that really tells you whether something is worth it? This genuinely lives in our freezer now, and I use it constantly.

What About Freezer Bags?

I love a solid, classic Ziploc freezer bag and use them frequently, but you could also check out a few different ones that are reliable, non-toxic, and keep food well preserved:

While I love YouCopia, hereโ€™s a list of alternatives that are just as awesome! They’re listed from lowest to highest pricing, which is super helpful!

Clear freezer organizer bin holding frozen boxed foods and silicone storage containers

YouCopia FreezeUp Freezer Rack, 12″

If you want a simple, no-fuss organizer for your standard fridge-top or fridge-bottom freezer, this is a great pick. 4 adjustable dividers snap into place to hold boxes and bags upright in a tidy row, so there are no piles or digging. The sturdy handles make it easy to pull the whole rack out and grab what you need in seconds. It’s the more compact option in the YouCopia lineup, so it works well in smaller freezer shelves. Price: $22.99

Stackable clear freezer bins organized with frozen meals, packaged meats, and boxed foods

Heyuzb Clear Stackable Freezer Organizer Bins, 2-Pack

If you want something stackable and different than a rack, these are worth a look. Made from food-grade plastic, they’re a solid option for deep chest freezers or larger fridge-freezer shelves where you need a bit more depth and height. Built-in side handles keep them easy to pull out, and because they stack, you can actually double up your storage in tighter spaces. Price: $26.99 for the 2-pack (also available in 4-pack for $24.99 for smaller items or 8-pack for $33.99).

iSPECLE Freezer Organizer Bins, 4-Pack

I’m certainly not the only one with a deep freeze, and these bins are built specifically for the kind of freezer you’d have in a garage or utility room โ€” and they’re a totally different situation than the clear plastic options. Wire construction means cold air actually circulates around your food, which helps prevent ice buildup and keeps things fresher longer. You get 2 large bins and 2 medium bins, so you can organize by category. Think: one section for beef, one for chicken, one for ready-to-eat meals. I adore how the slide-out drawer style means nothing gets buried or avalanches out when you open the door. Price: $36.47 for the 4-pack (also available in a 6-pack).

I hope you found this review of my favorite freezer bins helpful. If you do decide to grab a bin, let me know how it improves your kitchen organization!
