🥔 What Makes This Recipe So Good

  • The air fryer makes cooking frozen hash brown patties SO easy, and the results are pure perfection. Golden and crisp on the outside, fluffy and tender on the inside. Best of all, you don’t need any heavy oil. The air fryer gives you deep-fried hash brown patties without actually having to deep-fry them!
  • This is really a no prep recipe/method. I mean, you need to preheat the air fryer, but that hardly takes any time at all. We’re cooking the hash brown patties from frozen, which means you just have to take them out of the freezer and put them into the air fryer! 10-12 minutes later you’ve got perfect, crispy potato patties ready to enjoy however you want. Might I recommend some air fryer hash brown toast?
  • If McDonald’s hash brown patties are your go-to, this will totally make your day. Now you can skip the drive-thru and make your air fryer hash brown patties FAST-FOOD STYLE instead! Just spritz a little oil on the hash browns directly, then salt them to taste. The oil makes them even crispier, and the salt makes them taste just like the restaurant’s.

👩🏼‍🍳 Chef’s Tips

  • I wrote this for 4 hash brown patties, but you can honestly cook as many as you want. If you’re working with a smaller air fryer, you’ll want to cook the hash brown patties in batches so you don’t overcrowd the basket. Remember, the air needs to circulate around all sides of the food in order to cook it completely. If you want to avoid soft or soggy spots, don’t stack or overlap the patties.
  • Each air fryer cooks a little differently. Even two of the exact same model will cook differently in the exact same kitchen. Keep an eye on the hash brown patties, especially the first couple of times you try this method, and adjust the cook time as needed so you don’t under- or over-cook them.
  • This method is specific to frozen hash brown patties. You can totally cook shredded hashbrowns in the air fryer, too, though! The cook time and temperature are a little different than what we use here, but both styles of potato are ready in a matter of minutes.

  1. My oldest daughter bought me a air fryer for Christmas last year, and I don’t know how I ever did without it! I love it!! It’s a wonderful appliance! I’ve made delicious chicken breasts and pork chops! Fried potatoes, even boiled eggs! Tonight im cooking orida hashbrown patties in it for the first time! If the recipe isn’t in their little cookbook, this is my go to place to get 99% of everything I’ve ever cooked in it! Thank again!

  2. Just used my new air fryer to make frozen hash brown patties. Thanks for the recipe because I’m a little intimidated by the air fryer! Turned out yummy!5 stars

  3. We tried some with no oil spray and some with an oil spray. We preferred the oil sprayed patties as they were a little crispier. We did add the extra 3 minutes. We’re new to the air fryer game, so appreciated the guidelines here. We’ll be trying the bacon next for summertimes BLTs.5 stars
