Avocado Ranch Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 medium avocado (approximately 6 ounces; peeled, pit removed)
  • cup sour cream (or plain Greek yogurt)
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove fresh garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon dried dill (optional; or 1 tablespoon fresh dill, optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chives (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • ½ tablespoon fresh lime juice (plus more to taste)
  • salt (to taste)
  • freshly cracked black pepper (to taste)
  • ¾ cup buttermilk

Instructions

  • Add 1 medium avocado, ⅓ cup sour cream, ¼ cup mayonnaise, 1 clove fresh garlic, ¼ teaspoon dried dill, 2 tablespoons fresh chives, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons white vinegar, ½ tablespoon fresh lime juice, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper to bowl of food processor.
  • Secure lid on food processor and pulse ingredients together until combined.
  • Add ¾ cup buttermilk in small increments, pulsing ingredients together after each addition to fully incorporate milk. Repeat until all butter milk has been added or until desired consistency is achieved. Note: Use more or less buttermilk as needed to achieve desired dressing consistency.
  • Serve immediately, or transfer to airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.

Recipe Notes

  • Make it Dairy Free: Use plant-based milk, vegan mayonnaise, and vegan sour cream or plain, dairy-free yogurt in place of the Greek yogurt.
