Keto Ketchup

This easy homemade ketchup is keto, low carb, and sugar free! The best part: it tastes just like "regular" ketchup and is quick to make. Perfect with cauliflower, keto chicken fingers, rutabaga fries or anything else that needs plenty of dipping!

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to medium saucepan and whisk to combine.

  • Bring mixture to boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes, until ketchup thickens. If ketchup is too thin after 20 minutes, cook 5 to 10 minutes more.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as desired.
  • Let ketchup cool completely, then transfer to airtight container and refrigerate.

Notes

  • Tomato Paste: Use the tomato paste with the lowest carbs and sugar count you can find. Be sure to check the ingredients section of the label - avoid any that have added sugar, or sugar substitutes that aren't keto-friendly.
  • Sweetener: Sugar-free brown sugar is highly encouraged, but any keto-friendly sweetener will work.
  • Storage: Since this ketchup doesn't have any preservatives, it should not be stored at room temperature. Make sure to refrigerate it in an airtight container, and it'll keep up to 10 days.
  • Make it Gluten Free: Be sure your tomato paste and sugar substitute are gluten free.
