  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (semisweet, milk, dark.. up to you! White might even work!)
  • 1 dash vanilla extract
  • 1 dash peppermint oil
  • 1.5 ounce shot peppermint schnapps (optional.. but heartily recommended)
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream , optional
  • crushed peppermint candies or candy canes , optional, for garnish

  • Combine half-and-half and milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and heat 'til warm. Stir in chocolate chips and whisk until melted and totally smooth. Add in a dash of vanilla extract and peppermint oil, then taste. When satisfied with your extract balance, stir in peppermint schnapps.

Top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes, and serve.
