Warm small saucepan over medium heat. Add all ingredients for preferred moon milk flavor to warmed saucepan and whisk until ingredients are well-blended. Let mixture simmer 5 minutes.
Fit fine mesh sieve or strainer over serving mug. Carefully pour warmed moon milk into sieve, straining out any unincorporated ingredients. Discard any sediment left in sieve.
Whisk moon milk in mug before serving to be sure spices are fully incorporated. Serve immediately.

Astralagus is optional but recommended to aid with sleep.
