This weekend was mega-exciting for Stylist Quo Vintage–we sold our first piece! Remember the fabulous oxblood lace dress from last week? It now belongs to my new favorite stranger, an Etsy buyer cool enough to buy from a total virgin!
So this week I’m feeling particularly inspired by lace, but in more classic iterations from the 60s.
I bought this absolutely gorgeous gold satin and lace dress about a year ago when I happened upon an amazing collection at one of my favorite thrift stores. At the time, I bought it for myself and wore it in a couple shows and photo shoots.
It appears to be handmade, and the lace is high quality. It hangs beautifully and is just a stunning dress. It’s going up on Etsy later this week–keep an eye out.
I happened upon this a couple weeks ago and fell in love with how totally 60s it is. The collar nearly hints at the 70s, but the lace really says 60s to me. Don’t you think? It’d work so well for work. But roll the sleeves up and it’ll take you into the evening. Look for it on the shop in a few days!
3. Fur Pillbox Hat – Modeled by Burlesque Star, Cherry Cheesecake of Memphis’ Tennessee Vaudeville Revue
This fur pillbox hat is so Anna Karenina, no? I may be only 535 pages in, but I feel like I can say that with confidence.. Unfortunately, our puppy, Magnolia, got ahold of the hat when I was at a meeting, under the impression it was a paralyzed squirrel, I’m sure, and ripped out the Gimbel’s tag and lining. Fortunately, I can still wear it and intend to. This sucker will not be for sale, because, obviously, but watch for holiday stylings with my new old-country sartorial tribute.1
