There’s so much Thanksgiving information on my blog, it deserved its own ebook! To get your free copy of “The Complete Guide to Hosting Thanksgiving (Without Losing Your Mind)”, just subscribe to my blog using the form below. Easy, no? The ebook includes a full menu, all the recipes you’ll need for a full spread, your master shopping list, a detailed timeline leading up to the day and a day-of schedule, and all the information you’ll need to make informed choices such as which type of turkey to buy (organic or conventional?), how to roast it (breast up or down?), and whether or not to brine (plus a ton more!). It’s packed full of awesome info, and I know you’ll love it! I keep a copy open on my tablet pretty much the entire month of November.
Ok. First of all, you’re Thanksgiving is going to be amazing. Can I PLEASE come?! Second of all, you are going to look so cute with you all black outfit and your apron! Don’t forget to have O take some pictures of you! I hope everything goes off without a hitch, but I’m sure it will. And one more thing – have an amazing time! 🙂
Yes, you are 100% invited! I know it will be worth all the jetlag and whatnot 🙂 are you doing anything over there for Thanksgiving? I remember trying to find sausage for stuffing in Paris when I lived there.. No easy feat to find a lot of the ingredients for a “traditional” Thanksgiving! Actually.. There was an American grocery there CALLED Thanksgiving. But they sold cans of cream cheese frosting for like 8€.. Ha!
Oh man. I just wrote all about my experiences in France and attempting to make Thanksgiving! I didn’t know you lived in Paris. What did you do while you were there? I loved living in France so much – you are very lucky that you got the chance to do it! I wish I could go back so much… I never did make it to that store on my trips to Paris, but I don’t think expensive cream cheese frosting is my thing. Plus, they sell Philadelphia cream cheese there now so anyone can make their own!
I commented on your blog before reading this 🙂 I never actually went to that store either! Some of my friends who were less “from scratch” swore by it. For halloween we made Jell-O shots from gelatin sheets and all sorts of weird purées and juices.. It was awesome, ha! Those were the days. I was studying abroad, but I dropped out (didn’t actually need the credit) and just worked as a nanny/au pair! And you? Yes! I miss it so much! I tell O all the time we’re moving back. It’s a certainty.. Just not sure when or for how long. Anything you want me to send your way when we’re there for our honeymoon?! I wonder how long a flight is from Kazakhstan.. My geography is crap. You should hop over for Christmas! It’s so gorgeous for the holidays.
I read somewhere that Napolean’s kitchen was the first place jello shots were ever made. So it’s pretty fitting for you to make them in France – especially those fancy ones with juice purees. We lived in Angers for 3 years while Marc played hockey there – same reason we are here now – and we loved it. I seriously want to go back. It’s probably a 12 hour flight from here, so I think we are going to go more to the Asia side for our Christmas trip. That’s the great thing about hockey over here. There are always breaks, which means travel for us. I’m routing for Indonesia, but we’ll see. When’s your wedding anyway? We are thinking of going back to France just for fun after the season so maybe we’ll be there at the same time 🙂
Oh, how fun! I love that. So do you speak French? I knew you were a “hockey wife” but didn’t know quite the extent! And I had no idea Napoleon’s kitchen was the birthplace of jello shots – that makes me love them so much more! I made champagne squares last year for New Year’s Eve and they were amazing. Indonesia would fabulous! Get some warmth in while you can. Apparently it’s only a little over 6 hours to fly to Thailand (though where in K-stan and where in Thailand, I don’t know!) – so please go there for us! I offered O a trip to Europe in July for his 40th to see the Tour de France, the running of the bulls, and a couple solid soccer games, and the other day he said, “I want to go somewhere I want to go for my birthday. Like Thailand!” Ha! You can imagine I did not respond well 🙂 Our wedding is April 12! We’re flying out the next day. We know we’re supposed to take a day and relax and whatnot.. but we’re going to Europe dangit! We got to squeeze as much time in there as possible.
Sorry it took me so long to respond, but honestly I read my email when I was half asleep and then I totally forgot. You know how it happens. Anyway, yes I speak a little French but I didn’t know any when I first moved there. I wish we had stayed because I was finally getting good at it! Speaking of Thailand, that’s where we decided to go instead of Indonesia – mostly because it’s cheaper – but it looks like it’s going to be great. You should totally go there in July AFTER going to Europe on your honeymoon in April..right? You might as well. I think a European honeymoon will be amazing. You’ll get to eat amazing food, see awesome historical things and get to spend time in some of the most romantic cities in the world. You really can’t go wrong! Are you all done with your wedding planning or is there lots to do? Did you pick out your dress yet and stuff? Oh it’s so exciting to be planning a wedding! I can’t wait to see pictures 🙂
Ooh Thailand! And yeah why not? Thailand in July it is! 🙂 the wedding is pretty much planned, but it’s starting to get closer so I’m sure there will be loads of little details to take care of. We’ve been engaged for 11 months, and I knew it was coming so we toured a ton of venues before he even proposed! I do have my dress – I actually blogged the process! The title is “tale of two dresses” or something if you’re interested 🙂 did you blog yours? I LOVE stalking blogger friends weddings.
Oh cool. I’ll check it out. No I didn’t blog mine. I didn’t start blogging until we had been married for a year already because I was finishing my bachelor’s online and it took up so much of my time. But if you want to see my pictures they are here: http://blog.erinjeanphoto.com/?p=226
Ah, I love them! You look so gorgeous. I love the dress! It has the silhouette I was after at first, and then I ended up with a crazy princess dress. I’m obsessed with the reception toast photos. Your photographer did an amazing job
