Pomegranate-Ginger Fizz

Hey, I’m pregnant! Here’s a cocktail.
A few months ago, one of my favorite companies, Honest Tea, and I started working together on a batch of cocktail and smoothie recipes to share on their blog. I was super stoked to start developing recipes using their organic teas, since O and I have been drinking them for years! When I met O, bachelor that he was, the man drank Snapple Peach Tea with vodka at the beach.
No..
Just no.
On one of our first few beach trips, I picked up a bunch of Honest’s Peach White Tea and made a believer out of O. In fact, I managed to tell this elegant story on my first call with Honest, and I’m sure they were beyond impressed (or.. maybe.. not). At the very least, they must not have been too concerned, as today I’m sharing with you my first and favorite Honest Tea cocktail – the pomegranate-ginger fizz.
Once I paired these two ingredients together, I immediately saw a lifetime of partnership flash between my eyes. The tart fruitiness of pomegranate, the spicy earthiness of ginger.. oh mommy. How had I gone my entire life without setting these two up?! I layered a pomegranate syrup steeped with slices of fresh ginger with bubbly ginger ale, and fell in love.
Come to think of it.. this would be a righteous mocktail, non? The vodka is almost dangerously silent, imparting a balance to the sweetness but without dominating anything else.
I made a batch of these for some girlfriends around Christmas, and their eyes lit up at first sip. It’s a gourmet cocktail without the often requisite puckering from a fancy schmancy drink that tastes too much of, you know, trees. Life’s too short to drink trees, people. Life’s too short to drink trees.
Check out the recipe on Honest Tea’s blog!
You had me at “dangerously.” Love the recipe. 🙂
😀 Thanks Nicole!
Yummmm! I’ll take one for myself, and then another one just because 🙂
Drinkin’ for two like a champ Sarah!
Dangerously silent vodka. Love it.
This looks amazing, and you’re right, vodka is pretty tasteless (or maybe that’s just me…). I think this would be great sans-alcool for you! Either way, it looks so refreshing. I have to get me some when I get home 🙂
I am loving these sans-booze, you’re right! They’re full of flavor and yeah, the vodka is just for fun.. Omar pretty much ONLY drinks vodka, including vodka sodas, and I have no idea how he can do it.. gross! Tastes just like rubbing alcohol, bleh
