How did getting back in touch with all those folks go last week? Find out you had any children you didn’t know about before? I did. But look, my past is my past…
O and I are trying to be more social in general, knowing how good it is for us, but reluctant to move from our Teen Mom on-demand reserves. But isn’t socializing and networking one of those things you might not even look forward to–dread perhaps–yet once you’ve done it and come home, you’re energized and almost always happy you went?
That being said, finding specific people to reach out to was challenging for me, yet people from my past seemed to pop up at random. We reconnected with a few people missing from our lives, and it’s a good habit we’ve kicked up.
Here’s this week’s challenge, my favorite yet:
Do Something Fun. Everyday.
I don’t really know what that means to you, but I know what it means to me. It means stringing cranberries on dental floss to wrap around our little gimpy Christmas tree; it means finishing the second season of Sister Wives; it means baking up a new peanut butter + chocolate + marshmallow dessert just because.
What it is for you, make an effort to do something fun everyday. I’m not saying leave the office at noon everyday to go cow-tipping, but make an effort to, every single day, spend at least a little time doing something just because.
Happiness is a crucial part of our own personal success, and engaging in activities you personally enjoy helps set the mood in your life for happiness. Even if the happiness fades after each cow is tipped, the very act of doing something just to have fun is helping.
Coming up next week is a new challenge series! Stay tuned…
