Ah, emerald. Pantone color of the year! You’re everywhere, but, if done improperly, look like an elementary school St. Patrick’s Day party.
Done right, the look is lush, jewel-toned, vibrant, but sophisticated. Perfect inspiration for a wedding.
When styling an emerald-inspired wedding, keep it simple and accessorize. You want to wear most of the emerald–shoes, bridesmaid dresses, actual emerald jewelry, etc. The rest of the emerald should appear in organic ways, in the form of lush greenery and bouquets, mojitos, wine bottles.
A deep emerald green fondant works on the cake when sandwiched between buttercream ruffle layers, finished with a white anemone. Work an Oz-inspired invitation for a vintage feel without being too obvious or over-the-top. A flower girl dress with a deep emerald sash? I die.
Finally, skip the green-colored.. stuff.. and opt for secret garden-inspired décor on the table and traipsing about the chairs, walkways, etc. Moss, deep greenery–keep it in mind, and your wedding will look less like an easily-dated ode to fashion trends and more like a luxurious, yet organic timeless affair.
